EXAMINATION PROMOTION RULES

The evaluation specification for the session 2017-18 at different levels will be as follows:

PRE-PRIMARY CLASSES

During the entire session there will be two evaluations comprising of written tests, orals, activities, and assignments.

PRIMARY CLASSES

At this level the session will comprise of two evaluations which will include periodic tests, terminals (Term I and Term II), notebook submission, activities and orals (English, Hindi, Maths and Sanskrit).

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL (VI – VIII)

·All the classes will follow the new system comprising of two terms during which assessment will be done on the basis of periodic tests, subject enrichment activities, note book submission and term examinations (Term I and Term II).

·For classes VI – VIII average of the two periodic tests will be credited to the students in each term. They will have to pass separately in each term with 33% of marks.

·For classes IX – X average of best of two periodic tests will be credited to the students.

·Final term exam of 80 marks will cover the syllabus as given below:

Ø Class VI – 10% of First Term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of Second Term.

ØClass VII – 20% of First Term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of Second Term.

ØClass VIII – 30 % of First Term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of Second Term.

ØClass IX X – Entire Syllabus

·Students will be awarded grades along with the marks as per the following grading scale.

For the holistic development of the students, co-curricular activities in the following areas will be carried out in school:

a.Work Education

b.Art Education

c.Health & Physical Education

Students will be graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good, C=Fair) for classes VI–VIII and on a 5-point (A-E) grading scale for classes IX- X.

·The students will also be assessed for discipline based on factors like attendance, behavior, values etc. and graded on a 3-point scale (A-C) for classes VI – VIII and on a 5-point grading scale (A-E) for classes IX-X.

·For class IX generally seats are not reserved for repeaters.

CLASS XI

The assessment will comprise of 3 periodic tests, mid-term and final term. The qualifying marks in each subject of examination shall be 33%, however in a subject involving practical work, a candidate must obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical separately in order to qualify in that subject.

CLASS XII

Assessment will be done on the basis of class tests, mid-term and pre-board examination.
