Established in 1999, St. John’s English Medium School, Kharsia, stands as a beacon of knowledge and character in the heart of kharsia town, Raigarh (Chhattisgarh). Founded under the visionary leadership of the Catholic Sansthan Raigarh Dakshin Purb Parikshetra, our institution was born from a commitment to nurturing future generations through quality education and moral values.
Guided by the motto “Lead Us From Darkness to Light”, our school blends academic excellence with spiritual growth, empowering students to become thoughtful, responsible citizens of tomorrow.
We are proud to be affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, since 2009, holding Affiliation No. 3330105. Our provisional affiliation has been extended up to 2029, a testament to our consistent commitment to national education standards.
The school is managed under the esteemed guidance of Rt. Rev. Bp. Paul Toppo, with administrative oversight from Bishop’s House, Rambhata, Raigarh (C.G.).

It originates from the ancient Sanskrit prayer “Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya” found in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, which translates to guiding the soul from ignorance to knowledge, from confusion to clarity, and from fear to hope.

About Our Logo
The emblem of St. John’s English Medium School is a powerful representation of our mission, values, and commitment to education. At the center of the logo is a cross, symbolizing faith, moral guidance, and the Christian values upon which the school was founded. Below the cross is a lotus, representing purity, enlightenment, and the blossoming of knowledge. The lotus emerges from a book or vessel, signifying education as the foundation of wisdom and growth.
